 Having the biggest single snowfall in many years Mt Hutt has received 2.8 metres of snow giving an early season base of 3.2 metres. Clearing the mountain for an opening on Monday is a big job. Several control avalanches have been started by the patrol bombings. Snowmaking took a bit of a hit but with 3.2 metres they were a bit redundant anyway. The bottom of the triple also took some snow a great video on the Mt Hutt Facebook page on the 21st shows the patrol bombing this slide. Those guys just love it. Gunpowder bombs avalanches - what more could a boy want !!
