On Saturday Methvens favorite multisport athlete Glen Currie competed in the great race. Glen had a great result and came in 3rd place. The other athletes in front and some behind are all professional athletes. Glen is a full time teacher so can train when work and family allow.Glen was beaten by Richard Usher 5 time winner and 2nd place this year. The winner was Braeden Currie, Glens brother formerly from Methven and now living in Wanaka. Glens support team were all Big Al's crew led by the renown R.T.O. Other Methven athletes to feature were James Rodderick who was a member of the winning mixed team and 3rd overall two day team. Anna Johnston Glenns sister who was 18th woman home in the womens two day event. A huge day for the Currie family.
