Mt Hutt 24th May

Sunday, May 26, 2013
This photo was taken outside Methven's most famous snowsports shop and gossip central. As you can see it was a pristine day. A few Methven locals decided to take up their skidoos and make a few new tracks on their skis/snowboards. Shifty Methven car salesman and house husband Dave McPhail couldn't resist. His hardworking schoolteacher partner, mother and ex Big Al's staff member Arnie was at work. Thinking "if I am back by 3pm she will never know."  Cruising past Methven kiddy day care he headed up the mountain and had a grand old time. It a tough life being a house husband in Methven !!!

Double Header for Young Bikers

Thursday, March 21, 2013
Last weekend was a double header for young mountain bikers. The Aoraki Secondary downhill and x-c champs.

The young crew from Big Al's ruled. Extreme ski/snowboard rental tuners Gareth Burgess and Michael Breading rocked. Michael cleaned up the U15 downhill, Gareth swept up the field in the U17's before shooting off to the Lyttleton Urban Downhill.

Gareth finished 20th in the Open Mens division with the pro elite riders. Alice Todhunter who takes control of the rental department from time to time was 1st in the U19 girls x-c

The Godzone

Thursday, March 14, 2013
The Godzone and Methvens favorite multisport are still on the go but nearly in Queenstown. Very close to Mapac Girls on Top team.

Hopefully the Orion Health team will pass them on this last Mountain bike leg or Mr Currie will be recieving a stern talk to about getting Chicked. Ask yourself how can you do an event like this. There is tough events but adventure racing is another level altogether ! Mr R.T.O. The main man at Big Al's and wife Lana produced a boy Joseph Darra Owen at 10.30 this morning whopdedo !!!!
